The opener motor is fine but the shaft doesn t turn.
The first thing to check is the transmission receiver on the inside wall of your garage. Do not ever adjust the opener travel limits. You ll also want to make sure you keep the trolley about 2 to 4 inches from the protection bolt. If your garage door opens part of the way at least 5 feet and then stops you ll want to turn the up limit knob to the right.
It s smart to make very small adjustments so you don t overdo it and end up slamming the door open or shut. They can hear the motor going but the door itself is not opening. If your door isn t closing adjust it down. Turn sure lock off also called vacation lock check the power source where the powerhead is plugged in plug a lamp into the same outlet if the lamp works the power source is ok if the lamp does.
If that s not the case then the door won t open fully. If it won t go up adjust it up. This feature prevents the motor inside the garage door opener from damaging. If everything else is ok try operating the door by hand don t hurt yourself it should come up without too much trouble.
Check power door lock. Try making small adjustments. This is related to the up limit switch. The power door lock must be deactivated anytime you open the garage door.
A full turn of the screw equals about two inches of door movement on most models.
